Brazil’s TAM is beefing up operations

The airline TAM has announced that it will invest $50 million in extra operations to meet passenger demand in Brazil and abroad during the World Cup. Authorization for 1000 extra flights(domestic 850 of them), between June and July this year, has been requested from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency.
If the request is approved TAM will go from 83 daily flights to 96 at Brasilia – from 5 to 11 at Curitiba – from 27 to 32 at Fortaleza – from 13 to 18 at Manaus and from 100 to 112 at Rio.
Latam Airlines Group, formed by TAM and LAN will be the largest air operator for the event, will invest in training and temporary employment of more than 1000 employees, mainly in the areas of call centers and airports
The colombian airline Avianca has informed that their rates will have a ceiling of Reais $999(US $420) during the World Cup and that this limit is already valid for flights from February.
