Iberia: No more paper in cockpit?

Iberia wants to abolish all use of paper och documents in the cockpits of their aircraft. The use of ”electronic flight bags” – i.e. Ipads are to replace all paper documents in the future that are needed in the cockpit for flight planning and operation. The airline expects a reduction in weight of 60 kilograms. The result per month, is a saving in fuel of around 150,000 euros. So far, only one Airbus A320 is equipped with iPads.
